April, 1999 - Los Angeles. As first recipient of the "Buddy
Fund", the spcaLA
received a check in the amount of $1,000.00 from Fe-Lines, Incorporated
during their annual "PETelethon".
Presented by Fe-Lines President Bonnie Pemberton, the donation
was made in memory of "Buddy", her foundeling yellow tabby
and the inspiration for all of Fe-Lines product line. Buddy is the
cover kitty for Sticky Paws and lived with Bonnie in LA and Texas
before his death in November of 1998. In his memory, Fe-Lines, Inc.
has created the "Buddy Fund" to benefit worthwhile animal
charities each year, and is pleased to announce that the spcaLA
is the Buddy Fund recipient for 1999. spcaLA representatives graciously
accepted the check in the televised ceremonies that included celebrity
Betty White and raised over $60,000 for their cause. For their generous
sponsorship of the 1999 PETelethon, Fe-Lines, Inc.is honored to
be named an spcaLA Friend For Life..
